
St Ivo Parents Forum fundraise for the School with an innovative micro-giving strategy. We know parents are busy and perhaps don’t have time to run fundraising events, so instead we invite parents to set up a regular VERY SMALL donation.
We invite Parent Forum members to set up a standing order of just £2 a month to the Parents Forum.
Our big vision is to be a generous supporter of St Ivo school. Secondary schools often don’t have the benefit of a strong fundraising element like our primary schools do. We’d love to see that change and think this is an easy way to do it!
How will the funds be allocated?
The lions share of the funds raised will be donated to the school for things that are not usually covered by Astrea Academy Trust.
Our first donation of £1500 in June 2025 went to:
- £400 for items requested by the student leadership group. This included footballs, table tennis equipment, paint for a mural and extra bins for the site.
- £1020 on extra benches for outside areas (also requested by the student leadership)
- £80 for a one year subscription to a Maths support programme to help GCSE students to revise.
Future donations might be directed to…
- Donations to the departments that are seeing cuts (like art, music and business studies)
- New equipment
- Support for students struggling with their mental health
- Support for school trips, productions etc
- Interesting speakers to visit the school
- More library resources
A very small percentage of the money will be used for Parent Forum activities like website costs, any venue hire for special meetings, any printing costs etc. But for regular team meetings the Golden Lion kindly let us use their premises for free and members buy their own refreshments.
Some may be used on our current campaign to improve Astrea’s approach to behaviour and maintain a broad and interesting curriculum
All money is allocated by the decision of the Parents Forum Steering Group which now has around 25 members representing a broad range of parent views.

We will not give unallocated money to the school. We will purposefully direct it to things that parents and students would love to see supported.
How to set up the standing order
A standing order is a payment you set up to automatically send a fixed amount of money to another bank on a regular basis.
It is not like a direct debit. Once it is set up you remain completely in control of how much and when funds are taken. We can’t take anything from your account.
You can leave the standing order running for as long as you choose. We’d love parents to feel they could leave it running for the whole time their children are at the Ivo (hence such a small amount) but totally understand if you need to stop it!
