Sadly, at the moment we have some real concerns about the mental health and well being of our children at St Ivo Academy. Below is information relating to that.
Statement – Student Protests – 26.2.23

As you may have read, there were a number of pupil protests across Cornwall, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and Merseyside last week, primarily against uniform policies and changes to toilet rules.
St Ivo Parent Forum is not encouraging pupils to engage in this kind of behaviour at St Ivo school.
We would recommend that parents advise children not to take part if they are invited to.
Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of all students.
As many of you know, we have raised a formal complaint with Astrea Academy and are pursuing change via this route.
At this time, we are still waiting for the response to our complaint from Astrea.
Parents Forum Formal Complaint to Astrea – 20.2.23

On 20th February 2023 the St Ivo Parents Forum submitted a formal complaint to Astrea in accordance with Astrea’s complaints procedure.
While the complaint is live, we are not commenting on it publicly.
All Forum members have been issued with a full copy of the complaint.
For now we can say the main concerns are:
- The behaviour and uniform policy and their implementation
- The recent curriculum and GCSE changes announced by Astrea (Jan 23)
- The negative, mental-health impact the atmosphere at St Ivo Academy is having on students and teachers.
